Maryam is in good hands! Indeed there's a larger picture, and you captured it quite vividly. Ultimately, we want to be able to teach based on a better understanding how our students are more likely to learn effectively.<BR/><BR/>Your earlier conception of active learning is not entirely wrong. Students to benefit from well-designed activities that require physical movement. But those cognitive connections are critical -- both at the personal and group level.<BR/><BR/>One more thing -- look into "1-minute paper" as a technique to induce personal reflection and get feedback.
